I hope this letter finds you well.
My name is [Your Name Here] and I’m a resident of [City, State here]. I’m writing to demand accountability for the racist and unjust murder of Elijah McClain.
The motion to dismiss the wrongful death of Elijah McClain that was recently filed by the city of Aurora is nothing more than an attempt to avoid accountability for murdering an innocent Black man & to deny Elijah and his family the justice they so rightfully deserve. The police officers involved need to be fired, arrested, and charged for this heinous crime. The lack of immediate action from the appropriate officials and Colorado decision makers was and is completely unacceptable
Moments like this are a gleaming example and opportunity for leaders in your community to take a stand against police brutality. Please take action and do all you can in bringing justice for Elijah, his family and friends and to set the principle that police officers are not above the law and will be charged if their actions are hateful, reckless and unlawful. We must create a nation that is safe for all, regardless of their skin color.
Thank you for working to keep our nation, this world, and our communities safe spaces free of hate and violence.
Respectfully,
[Your Name Here]
