I hope this letter finds you well.

My name is [Your Name Here] and I’m a resident of [City, State here]. I’m writing to demand a full and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of 15-year-old Quawan “Bobby” Charles. Those involved need to be held accountable for their racist and unjust actions.

The lack of effort and response shown by the Baldwin Police Department when the child was reported missing is UNACCEPTABLE. It is quite possible a young boy’s life could have been saved had the local officials responded swiftly and appropriately, issuing an Amber Alert state wide. While it is reassuring to hear that Sheriff Romero of Iberia Parish is dedicated to discovering the truth about what happened between the time Quawan went missing and when his mutilated body was discovered, actions must speak more loudly.

It has been several days without an official cause of death. Quawan and his grieving family deserve answers and fair justice. Please take action to ensure a full and transparent investigation happens.

We must create a state and nation that is safe for all men and women, regardless of their skin color. Thank you for working to keep our nation, this world, and our communities safe spaces free of hate and violence.

Respectfully,

[Your Name Here]
